My Story

Candace Potts, Singer, songwriter, arranger and teacher, is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and a proud graduate of Morgan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, with a concentration in vocal performance. She has been blessed to travel the world. Starting out in college with the Morgan State University Choir, then with groups such as: Danton Whitely and Mosaic Sound, Nolan Williams Jr. and

The Jeremy Winston Chorale. She interorets her voice to be somewhat of an anomoly. With her S octave

ranac and improvisational pertormancc. She has performed Opera Scenes such as: Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, Cosi fan tutte, Gershwin's Porgy and Bess. Henry Purcell's Dido and Acneas, and Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel (Morgan State University). Candace has also had the opportunity to use her vocal abilities performing in Lconard

Bernstein's Mass and Broadway Musical, Marsha Norman's The Color Purple (Morgan State University). She has performed at the Kennedy Center. Carnegie Hall, numerous performances in the United States and has traveled abroad to perform in China, Russia, South America, Brazil, Italy, Jamaica, Prague and Czech Republic. There are several musical projects where she has participated including, performing with

the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Summer Opera Workshop (Morgan State University). Artist Choir (Roderick Giles), Urban Choral Arts Society (Ronald McFadden), St. Margaret's Church- Motet Ensemble & Chancel Choir (James Fitzpatrick), Douglas Memorial Community Church-Praise and Worship, Joyful Noise-Praise and Worship (Jessica Nelson), Collin Lett Chorale, Voices of Inspiration (Nolan Williams), Jeremy Winston Chorale, Stacey Gibbs & Just music, Danton Whitley & Mosaic

Sound and Darin Atwater & Soulful Symphony. Currently she is the newly appointed choir director of J. W. Sexton high school and Exccutive Director of Vocal studies for Transcendence Performing Arts Center, Gold Company. She wants to open the minds of our future leaders to become all that they want to be and too dream BIG. It doesn't matter where you're from, what you look like, the color of your skin, you are amazing and no one can put a limit to your

greatness. If vou just believe. The world is your oyster. She will continue to use her voice as an instrument and mentor youth who desire to pursue a career in vocal pertormance.
